Before you prepare your body for success, prepare your mind to accept it.

Are you acknowledging yourself for the progress you are making in reaching your goals? Are you rewarding yourself for a job well done? Are you creating an atmosphere that will promote long term success for your goals?

Before you begin working on reaching your goals, prepare your mind to accept the success to avoid self-sabotage along the way. What you really want is permanent results, not just a temporary fix.

I love reading the messages that come across our LIFELIFT support lists. We are fortunate to have many people who love to inspire and create enthusiasm for all of us. I have come to admire one woman in particular for her positive spirit and wonderful inspiring messages. I know that she has helped many others get up and going on days when they may have felt like giving up. Sandra is her name and it seems she is also inspiring me to write more newsletters lately. Her ideas are grand and very thought provoking. One of her latest ideas was a reward program for achieving goals or a reward for resisting temptation. She mentioned that if she would give up a candy bar that she was craving, she would give herself the number of points that equaled the number of calories in the candy bar. Her dilemma was what to do with the points to reward herself. Here are some of my ideas on how to use your reward points and what you can reward yourself for. The closer you get to the goals you are seeking, the easier it will be to do the things that will take you all the way to the finish line as the total winner you are capable of being.

Here is an example of a good day of gathering the rewards.

Have you done some LIFELIFT breaths today? Are you eating better than you did before? Are you drinking water regularly? If so, it's about time you patted yourself on the back! For some of you, this can be more challenging than it sounds. You may have spent your life marking your accomplishments by celebrating with a piece of chocolate cake as your reward. It is time to free yourself from the habit of rewarding yourself with food for your accomplishments. It is time to create a new kind of reward system. One that will help you reach your goals of a healthier body.

Every time you lose a pound or inch, for example, give yourself thirty points. Every LIFELIFT breath you do, add a point. Each glass of water you drink, add a point. Every time you do a complete workout, give yourself 20 bonus points, so if you did 30 breaths in your workout you would add 30+20 bonus points for a total of 50 per workout. Give yourself a point for every hour you sleep at night. Every time you follow through by eating 3 meals and 3 snacks daily, give yourself 6 points. Each time you take your supplements, add 10 points. Each time you repeat at least 5 positive affirmations for a healthy body, add 10 points. Each time you spend at least 10 minutes imagining your healthy, new body, add 10 points. Each time you resist eating something that would sabotage your goal, give yourself 30 points.

The goal is to finish each day with a total of at least 100 points. When you have had at least 30 days with 100 points average you will have automatically won because you will have changed your habits to healthy ones.

You can now convert your points to pennies. When you have accumulated enough pennies you can go spend your money on any one of these things.

The rule is you must spend the money on yourself. You can go get a manicure, a pedicure, a reflexology treatment, or a massage, have a professional photo taken of the new you or you can buy a new outfit in a smaller size. You can buy a new cosmetic, hair care product or anything that makes you feel good. You earned it!

Regardless of what you do with the points, you will be the winner of a healthier, happier and more attractive body.

Do you treat your body as well as you treat your car?

Chances are if you have a car, you treat it pretty well. I imagine you enjoy the convenience of being able to drive anywhere you would like to go without thinking to much about it. Of course you want to keep it running smoothly and looking great. You probably keep it tuned up, oil changed, washed on the outside too. If you are smart you do these things to protect your investment and because you have pride of ownership.

Your body is much like your car in many ways. If you leave your car sitting in your driveway without starting the engine, it will develop many problems. You may go out and try to start it to find that the battery won't even start your car. You may also find that if left long enough, the car will be filled with rust and that rust will run through your engine when it is started and cause more problems that you can imagine.

Ok, since we are using our imagination here, lets pretend you treat your body like you treat your car.

Do you give it the proper fuel it needs to run right? Do you give it plenty of oxygen, water and food that is top grade? Do you run it regularly (exercise), Or do you deprive it of oxygen, water and fill it up with low grade, processed food high in sodium, sugars, and fats and leave it sitting without movement for long periods of time?

When picking what food you put in your mouth, think of fuel for energy, nourishment for health. When you take a breath, think of it as fuel for energy, fuel to burn fat and fuel to keep your mind and emotions at their best.

Remember this. That car will last you for a few years, but your body is with you for your lifetime. Think of how much care you give your car and then give your body at least as much care as you would a brand new, beautiful car. Make your body your pride and joy!

Use LIFELIFT as a Mood Lifter:

Who would not want a little extra happiness? Would you? In studies to find what is the most important thing that people are searching for the answer was simply, happiness. What a simple concept, yet often many of us are not happy, because we allow ourselves to get into a state of physical or mental health that keeps us feeling down. Feeling sad, down or depressed can sabotage your goals for a healthy body if you don't take control and nurture yourself through the negative feelings. The best thing you can do when you are feeling depressed or in grief is to do some good LIFELIFT breaths. Create an endorphin high in just a few minutes by focusing on at least 10 Life Lift breaths and watch the difference in how you will feel. Your energy level will rise, your mood will be lifted. Along with those deep, slow, LIFELIFT breaths, it can also help to share your feelings. Sometimes simply expressing that you have the feelings of grief, fear or sadness, can help to lift the negative feelings. It can help you look deeper into yourself. Often we are feeling something that is somewhat hidden from our conscious minds. Understanding this can help us sort through and deal with the deeper feelings so that we can heal. If you have no one that you feel comfortable about talking to, write your feelings down. This can be as cleansing as talking to someone who cares.

When my Father was ill I found myself craving some of the craziest things. I wanted Kentucky Fried chicken and biscuits in the worst way. One day I realized that this was something that we often enjoyed when we would have family picnics when I was a little girl and everything was happy and I had my beloved Daddy. I decided to just eat the chicken and feel the comfort. It did not seem to hurt anything and actually gave me a feeling of home. It can be helpful not to fight so much with our needs. I think the reason so many fail on diets is that they have so much of a feeling of deprivation. I believe strongly in allowing yourself to feel and be human. Be kind to yourself and nurture yourself in every way possible and don't forget to breathe! Give yourself a "Lift", you know a "Life Lift".

The workout I had with the new commuter audio tape is the most amazing workout I have ever had. It was all I could do to keep up. I felt exhilarated when I was finished. I love the fact that I can do a few with you, or the whole 20 minutes. I feel like you are right there with me. The affirmation tape is almost hypnotic. I love the tapes.
The breathing tape is just what I wanted. Now that I have been faithfully doing the breathing for over a year, I tend to get distracted sometimes.
I'll do 10, then run and put in some laundry, etc. That's fine if they are extras or if you are just trying to maintain, but I really think you need to do 40 together when you are still in the losing phase. This keeps me right on track and before I know it my 40 together are done for the day. This tape was perfect timing for me.
And the affirmation tape is BEAUTIFUL! You have the perfect (beautiful) voice for it

I would also like to say that if anyone has thought about ordering Rashelle's body wraps, don't think twice about it just do it! I just love the body wraps. We have lots of wonderful people to help and the only list I know of where the designer of the program is there to help you as Rashelle is and she will make you feeI like you are the most important person in the world and help you with any problem you have. I am not an expert on lifelift to say the least but I am an expert when it comes to yo-yo dieting and gaining and losing weight, and I can tell you what LIFELIFT has done for me. I started gaining wt about 5 yrs ago when I started eating lowfat foods. I was exercising at least 3 times a week at a gym and eating lots of low fat foods and about all I accomplished was putting muscle on top of fat! I then found Body Flex. I tried to do it intermittently with Oxycise off and on for the next 3 yrs. I could never get quite comfortable with either one. I could never quite grasp the breath with oxycise and BF was just too loud. I always had to find a place where no one could hear me so as not to disturb anyone. I did keep faithful to it for a time but it took all my strength to just do the breath, let alone try to hold it while doing a stretch. Please don't think I am knocking either one of these because I'm sure they have helped some, but after a while I quit because I could never find the time to be alone somewhere where no one would hear me.I heard about LL while on the BF list and decided to give it a try. It is the best decision I have made for my body, and I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.It is the only exercise I know I can do anywhere while doing anything and no one has to even know I am doing it. I always breathe while traveling, ironing, showering etc. I can't even begin to tell you how it has made me feel. My lungs are stronger, and at almost 52 years old I feel like 18! My eating habits have not been too great but I am learning to eat healthy and not fear food like I used to. I have a very stubborn body when it comes to losing weight and also have low thyroid and hormones to add to my frustration. But gradually the weight is coming off, and I am keeping my body strong with the LL. I also find that the slower and easier I do the breath the better the workout. I just take my time and really concentrate on getting all that great oxygen in my system. I do the tapes and also add any kind of stretch I can think of.

Thank you for creating the Body Wrap set. I used to have Herbal Wraps at your salon and they were the only thing that really made a difference for inch loss and cellulite, combined with LIFELIFT. I was lost after I moved. I was worried that I would not get the same results with the take home Body Wrap products. I am so happy to say they are even better. I love them.
